What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) belongs to a new class of treatments referred to as Energy Psychology. EFT offers the potential for rapid and effective relief from many emotional problems, including trauma, anxiety, phobias, anger, sadness, grief, guilt, pain and many more. It is also a powerful aid for weight loss and smoking cessation, as well as breaking other undesired habits. The technique is safe, non-invasive, easy to use, and is an excellent tool for self-help.
Essentially, EFT is a form of psychological acupuncture, except we don’t use needles. Instead, EFT is performed by tapping with fingers on acupuncture points at the end of the meridians on the head, collarbones and hands while being tuned-in to the problem. This tapping balances energy meridians while experiencing, or thinking about, an emotionally disturbing event. Once balanced, the upset is usually resolved. The memory stays, but the emotional charge is gone. Typically, the result is lasting and is also accompanied by positive changes in thinking and new insights.
